Gone Fishin’

In the words of a dear Pisces friend of mine, “It’s your birthday. You’re allowed to play hookey and do whatever the hell you want.” (Thanks, Jill!)

And thanks, Karen, for the image suggestion last night—which obviously stuck in my brain. (—Swell party, by the way; thanks for including us in the fun!)

Thanks also to all the other friends and family who made today so special with goodies and good wishes! I’m not usually a fan of Mondays, but this one was terrific.

I hope all of you already in Dreamland are having sweet ones…and have a great Tuesday, everyone!

Such beautiful fish! And such a happy looking birthday kitty with a fork at the ready. Many happy returns!

Thanks, Sis! You can probably spot scans of some of the treats you brought over, standing in for fish scales—a detail from the book cover (upper left fish), the envelope from your card (underneath it), the ribbon off one of your gifts (opposite).

So yeah, this is how yesterday felt on the receiving end—i.e., like casting a line into an ocean of abundant goodies and fun. Thanks again for all you did to make the day special!
