Lawn Treatment

It must be spring — finally! — because today the lawn guy came to treat our grass. Even though we now employ a “natural” (supposedly non-toxic) lawn service, I still put up little signs asking them to please not treat the bird feeding areas, figuring you can never be too careful, right? — Signs which this guy ignored!

So I went out and scraped all the little pellets — whatever they were — out from under the bird feeders as soon as Mr. Lawncare left. Then I doodled up an alternative version of events for Dad’s morning cartoon.

Charlotte was delighted to get dressed up and pose while I did some warm-up sketches. I said, “Show me how angry you’d be if someone did something that harmed our little bird friends.” She looked at me blankly.

“OK, so picture that your buddy Max has just entered your personal space.” That did the trick. (Hey, whatever works!)

Happy Spring and best wishes from Charlotte Sweetface and the rest of the household.
