As promised in Wednesday\u2019s post<\/a>, here is Aaron Mouse\u2019s drawing of Charlotte, modeling for a pretend New Yorker cover.<\/p>\n

\"Beauty<\/a>\u2014Not the New Yorker? Heck, this image isn\u2019t even an official Blown Covers Contest<\/a> submission! \u2014Somehow, in between all the hustle and bustle, Aaron finished this \u201cmasterpiece\u201d in time, but then forgot to send it in by yesterday\u2019s noon deadline for this past week\u2019s theme, The Beach.<\/p>\n

\u2014Or was I maybe supposed to do that for him? (Oops!)<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Aaron Mouse\u2019s \u201cBeauty & the Beast\u201d drawing at left closely resembles one of the concepts that I sent in to the contest myself (see below). But that\u2019s what happens when you share an art studio sometimes, I guess!<\/p>\n

And yes, indeed, you guessed right\u2014The little dog chewing the Frisbee in the \u201cIndoor Beach\u201d illustration below is my good friend Miss Ridley<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And no, this week I didn\u2019t make it out of the \u201cslush pile.\u201d But when you see all the wonderful entries that did<\/em>\u2014as well as all the fine company I\u2019m in in<\/em> the slush pile<\/a> this week\u2014you\u2019ll see why I am not upset about that in the least\u2014cartoon at left aside \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
